Christopher Rumsey died from wounds on 7th August, 1917, after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information, as to when and where he was wounded. The 2nd London battalion was part of 169 Brigade, 56th Division that had arrived on the Western Front at the beginning of 1916  been involved in much of the fighting since that date.
